Welcome. I have been working with neurofeedback and psychotherapy in private practice for almost 20 years, since 1996. I am Board Certified in Neurofeedback (Senior Fellow, www.bcia.org) and certified in psychotherapy and psychoanalysis (New York University postdoctoral Program in Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis). I am also a Master Trainer with the manufacturer of equipment for dynamical neurofeedback (NeurOptimal). The field has come a long way since 1996, and the technology continues to evolve, including integrative methods for facilitating changes that matter in people’s lives. After all, that’s the point to help people make differences that matter in their lives.
I have worked with many different types and brands of neurofeedback equipment over the years. I’ve also made sure to get the highest quality training.
In recent years it has become possible to synergize the processes of change by working with many nonconscious and conscious aspects of brain and mind simultaneously. I find that it is important to harness the mind, including unconscious aspects of mind, for reliable and stable good results. Mind and brain are accessed via talking to a therapist. The brain is accessed differently by neurofeedback. The combination of neurofeedback and psychotherapy is often most helpful.
When you come to my office, the process is individualized. We talk about the topics that matter to you. I use my expertise in listening, in change processes, and in physiology and psychology to educate and expand your experience all while the neurofeedback system is providing feedback to your nonconscious brain. I help you learn to listen to your own mind and body. My experience guiding people through change enhances and expands your capacities for self regulation. And the neurofeedback gives your brain information that is not otherwise available for nonconscious regulation. (For a description of child sessions, click here.)
